How Isreal Impacts the World

What does Israel bring to your life? What ideas or inventions are part of your world that originated in the land that is indigenous to the Jewish people? What if Israel impacted your life in positive ways, every day? Would you care differently about its survival and success? In this presentation, you will learn specifics about how Israel makes your world a better place. Challenged every day to survive and thrive, Israel and Judaism contribute to your world, anyway! About Us

About Us

  •  Action for Tolerance is so fortunate to have a core group of volunteers who are not only dedicated to the goals of our organization but are longtime activists in many arenas in the Coachella Valley and beyond.  Their combined knowledge, experience and creativity are a huge asset that has allowed us to grow in a short time. They also come from all walks of life- Jews and Christians, women and men, young and old-in unity for a better, healthier, stronger community free from hatred, divisiveness and persecution.  Our future plans include more and varied programming, social networking, letter writing workshops,  and brain storming sessions for more and stronger ways to get our message out to the community. There are many opportunities for anyone interested in making our community and our world a better place.  We still have much to do and we hope YOU will consider becoming part of this amazing effort.

Our History

  •    In 2014 a group of Coachella Valley citizens met to discuss their concerns at the rising tide of intolerance they were witnessing in so many arenas of life. Divisions on religious, racial and political beliefs have become more and more ugly, uncivilized and dangerous to our local community and to the world at large and we felt that we needed to tackle this sad state of affairs on a grass-roots level and to address this problem in a way that could make a difference.  Thus, Action For Tolerance was born with the goal of educating our community in not only what is happening in today's world, but how to respond as we encounter these prejudices on a local, national and even worldwide stage.  Since its inception, events with informative films, interesting speakers and discussions have been held at the Tolerance Education Center in Rancho Mirage, and at the Rancho Mirage Library to enthusiastic audiences who want to make a difference so that their children and grandchildren have a better, happier and more accepting world in which to live.  Many have already joined our ranks.  We hope you will, too.

Our Mission

  •  A local grass-roots volunteer organization formed out of the need to inspire and empower individuals in our community of any religion or ethnicity to action wherever and whenever intolerance regarding religion, race or culture is encountered.  We will provide tools, education and action strategies to enable our members and participants to respond with truth and strength either in a group setting or individually and teach how to advocate for tolerance in any situation. This is intended to be a collaborative, pro-active effort using information gleaned from existing organizations and disseminating it to our local populace. Silence in the face of intolerance is participation.  Knowledge is empowerment.  Action is imperative.

What is BDS

“BDS stands for the boycott, divest and sanction movement against Israel which aims to strangle the Jewish state economically while at the same time calls for the flooding of Palestinians into Israel to destroy the Jewish character of the state.

According to the definition of anti-Semitism by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and officially adopted by the U.S. (and 31 other nations), the BDS movement has been deemed at its core an anti-Semitic movement.

This is fundamentally because the movement “[applies] double standards by requiring of [Israel] a behavior not expected or demanded of by any other democratic nation.” For example, there are at least 100 land disputes across the globe that are not subject to “BDS” movements.”
